Blaise Dahl -- the singer/songwriter/producer of Brooklyn-based indie band, Dahl Haus -- has been selected as one of the upcoming NYC artists to be featured in Spindle Magazine’s first New York issue, which will also be the first print newsstand edition since it debuted as an online hub from Brighton in 2010. The theme of the February issue -- which launches the UK youth culture magazine on U.S. shores -- is Dreams. Spindle is founded under the belief that music has the power to positively unite, change, and influence daily life for people around the world, and it highlights artists that the editors believe are leading the way.
This will be the first print magazine interview for the Dahl Haus singer/songwriter/producer. Dahl’s accompanying photo shoot was done back in August at Coney Island’s Luna Park by Katrin Albert. Dahl personally chose Albert, who she previously worked with when the talented Russian born, Brooklyn based photographer directed Jennie Vee’s “Lips Like Sugar” video. The impeccably styled and art directed video featured couture dresses designed by Courtney Love.
This special glossy issue of Spindle will not be available online so look for it on newsstands and in Barnes and Noble bookstores when it drops sometime in February.
