DAHL HAUS debuted a new song, “Silhouettes and Alibis,” on Paul Is Dead Records’ ‘Subversive To Care’ -- a brilliantly curated AAPI charity compilation that benefits the Asian Mental Health Collective, National Asian Pacific American Women's Forum (NAPAWF), and The Tibet Fund. 100% of the proceeds from the Bandcamp exclusive download will be split among the three charities. Over 60 amazing, mostly L.A.-based artists came together to share their music in solidarity with these organizations that form a critical support system for the Asian community during the COVID pandemic, as they face so many acts of violence and harassment fueled by racist hatred. Dahl Haus and Mevius (in which Dahl Haus guitarist Daniel Kasshu and singer/guitarist Blaise Dahl trade places) were among just a handful of NYC/Brooklyn bands chosen to participate.
The album’s artwork was created by painter David Fair.
The title, 'Subversive to Care' is based on a conversation one of the label founders had about “the unfortunate lack of compassion and empathy which is so common these days; how the initial ethos of subculture was to rebel against the conservative and oppressive norms of society, whereas these days what is truly subversive is to care for your fellow human and be a genuinely compassionate and altruistic person.” The album is available here for a name-your-own-price donation.
