Hope you didn’t blink, but did you catch me last night on “The Americans” (episode 5, season 6)?
Back in December, I was so jazzed to get booked for this brief scene as a bar band singer (lip synching to “Never Want To Say Goodbye” by Simplistics) in a final season episode of my mother’s favorite show. At the time, my Grandmother was a hospice patient, and I had just spent the last two weeks working online while sitting at her bedside in my parents’ living room. As luck would have it, she died before the shoot and it was rescheduled for the day before her funeral. We filmed until the wee hours so I had to rock this heavily sprayed look at the early morning mass and the whole next day. Somehow I think my ‘80s hair would have made Grandma laugh and she would have loved the reaction it got from the other mourners… it certainly was a tension breaker and conversation starter! My Grandma was always my biggest fan. So in the end I guess it was the perfect send-off.
